2019: Stop arming thugs, IGP tells politicians

The Inspector General of Police, Alhaji Ibrahim Kpotun-Idris, on Thursday assured the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) of adequate deployment of armed policemen, vehicular patrols and helicopters for security during 2019 General Elections. Mr Idris gave this assurance in Lagos at a Conference on Logistics for the 2019 General Elections organised by INEC. Payroll Fraud: No Apologies For Removing Ghost names, Bayelsa Govt

The Bayelsa State Government has said that it owes nobody any apologies for removing ghost names from the over-bloated payroll in the state. The Government also stressed that the decision to flush out unqualified workers who came into the public service through dubious means should be commended by all well meaning citizens. The State Commissioner for Information and Orientation, Mr Daniel Iworiso-Markson, stated this at the Oporoma headquarters of the Southern Ijaw Local Government Area during the grand finale of a grassroots sensitization programme on the state government public sector reforms on Monday. 2019 ELECTIONS: NDPI ACCUSES SYLVA OF RECRUITING CULTISTS FOR APC

A group, Niger Delta Peace Initiative (NDPI) have accused the leader of the All Progressive Congress (APC) in the state, Chief Timipre Sylva of attracting more cultists into the party ahead of the 2019 general elections. The group ‎made the accusation in a statement it released to journalists in Yenagoa‎ at the weekend, saying Sylva's APC remains a party of cultists. President of NDPI, Diepreye Ayah who signed the statement ‎also accused Sylva of making overtures to members of the ruling party in the State to join the APC. The Commissioner for Information and Orientation, Mr. Daniel Iworiso-Markson, said in a statement on Friday that the claim made by the factional Chairman of the party, Mr. Jothan Amos, only confirmed the APC in the state as a party that thrives on lies and fraud.
