Eid –El- Fitri Celebration: IGP Felicitates With Nigerian Muslims




- Orders Massive Deployment Of Police Personnel Throughout the Country


The Inspector-General of Police (IGP), Ibrahim K. Idris on behalf of the officers and men heartily felicitates and rejoices with Muslim faithful across the country on the occasion of the 2018 Eid-el- Fitri celebration.
In statement signed by the Force Public Relations Officer, ACP Jimoh Moshood, the police chief directed all Zonal Assistant Inspectors-General of Police and Commissioners of Police in the various state commands to beef up security and ensure massive deployment of police personnel to all praying grounds and other places of celebration (Parks and recreation centres) throughout the country to prevent crime and ensure a hitch-free celebration.
It further added that the force has also deployed both the federal highway and anti-crime patrol teams along major highways to ensure protection of the public highways, major roads and the safety of travellers and commuters.
The police boss also stated that visibility patrols and surveillance will be maintained, raiding of criminal hideouts, black spots currently ongoing in the country will be sustained throughout the celebration and beyond.
He therefore called on the general public to cooperate with the police and report any untoward or negative incident in their locality to the nearest police station.
