… As Bayelsa Governor Commissions Projects in Delta State

Bayelsa State Governor, Honourable Seriake Dickson on Tuesday, called on the people of Delta State to mobilize support for their governor and the Peoples Democratic Party, (PDP) towards ensuring victory for the party at the 2019 general election.

Governor Dickson, who made the call while commissioning projects in Delta State, expressed appreciation to the people for their abiding support to the PDP governors on their efforts, towards ensuring an egalitarian and restructured Nigeria.

A statement by the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor of Bayelsa State, Mr. Francis Ottah Agbo, quoted Governor Dickson describing Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa as one of the most experienced and performing governors, who has served his people beyond expectation.

According to him, Dr. Okowa’s exemplary leadership was as a result of the experience he has garnered in his political career, which has increased his capacity to execute “life-changing and people-oriented projects, enthrone prudent management of resources and stability of the state.”

Governor Dickson noted that, the Dr. Okowa administration has worked diligently to impact positively on the lives of the people in the midst of the recession, when he assumed office, assuring that, he would do more if re-elected for a second term.

Describing the former governor of Delta State, Chief James Ibori as a political leader in the Niger Delta, and one of the patrons of restructuring, the Governor acknowledged the critical role he played in championing the cause of resource control while in office.

His words:”Thank you all for acknowledging what my colleague and I are doing in terms of voicing out our collective position on restructuring and devolution of powers in the country. All of us in the Niger Delta look up to Chief James Ibori as our leader who was one of the patrons of resource control.

“Your Governor (Okowa) has tried; he is one of the performing governors and he is a good man. You have a shinning star and experience in Governor Okowa. Your governor is a man of many titles. He and i share the same title of Ekwueme, meaning one who fulfils his promise.

“In spite of all he is doing, he still wants to do more. Our country had been in a recession, one of the worst in the past 30 years. All states are struggling to meet up their normal recurrent obligations. If in a recession, you are doing all of these, we know that your second term will be far better.”

...SAY HE RUNS WHEN NOBODY PURSUES HIM The Bayelsa State Governor, the Honourable Henry Seriake Dickson, on Wednesday described former Governor Timipre Sylva as an unpopular and desperate politician whose conscience remains his greatest threat. Dickson said in a statement by his Special Adviser, Media Relations, Mr. FIdelis Soriwei, that Sylva cuts the gnawing image of a troubled man screaming and fleeing at the sight of nobody. Dickson was reacting to a claim by Sylva that the governor was behind a plot to pitch the Chief òf Staff to the President, Mr. Abba Kyari, against him through orchestrated media reports. Soriwei said that Governor Dickson is too involved and indeed occupied with the execution of the mandate the Bayelsa people gave to him, to be distracted by the hallucinations of a politician whose lifeline in politics was the state òf the mood of his political masters. The Governor’s media Aide said that it was queer and absurd that Sylva did not point to any p...
