Bayelsa Plans Grand Reception For ex-DSS boss, Seiyefa

His service exemplary - Gov. Dickson

Bayelsa State Governor, Honourable Henry Seriake Dickson, has commended the immediate past acting Director General of the Directorate of State Services (DSS), Mr Matthew Seiyefa, for what he described as an exemplary national service.

He said in recognition of his meritorious service to the nation, the state government will honour him at a grand reception soon.

Mr Seiyefa, who served as acting DG for a brief period after the sacking of Lawal Daura, was last week replaced by Yusuf Bichi, a retired director of the service.

Governor Dickson in a press release by his Special Adviser on Public Affairs, Mr. Daniel Alabrah, said Seiyefa, who hails from Ekeremor Local Government Area of the state, is a quintessential Ijaw man and a great ambassador of Bayelsa.

He said the former DSS boss had a distinguished and meritorious 35 years of service to the nation for which the Ijaw nation is proud.

"Within such a short period that he headed the DSS, he was able to reposition the service. We are very proud of his exemplary and distinguished service to the nation. In recognition of this, the state will take maximum advantage of his availability for further service and he will be honoured soon at a formal reception," he said.

While thanking the Federal Government for the opportunity given him, the governor however noted that it was unfortunate the manner in which the country was denied the full benefits of his service.
