Bayelsa Governor Seriake Dickson Bags 2018 African Value Award...





Says Bayelsa International Airport Ready for Operations...

Bayelsa State Governor Henry Seriake Dickson has stated that plans have been concluded to open the Bayelsa state International Airport to local and international passengers before the end of the year.

He stated this while speaking as a recipient of the Africa Value awards 2018 in Abuja for Effective Leadership and Economic Development alongside other top influential personalities across Africa.

The governor who was represented by his Head of Media and Events Mr Ono K. Akpe, added that under the Restoration Government of Governor Dickson, there has been great transformation in the state which has accorded the state local and international recognition.

While noting that the Bayelsa state government was elated at the recognition, Akpe added that the Dickson led administration has pledged to do more in placing the state amongst leading states in the country which will be visible to both residents and visitors to the state alike

“Excellence does not go unnoticed and I am proud to receive this award on behalf of the governor who is committed to peace and security, infrastructural  development, education , health care development and social development.

“There has been great transformation in Bayelsa State in the past 7 years and I can say that Bayelsa state holds a new face altogether, for all those who have visited and yet to visit they can attest that the state has been greatly transformed and we can confidently say that the commencement of activities at the airport is a testament of the commitment and dedication of the restoration government of His Excellency Gov Seriake Dickson to open up the state and show to the world our huge potentials” he added.

Also speaking was the Chairman of the Planning Committee, Amb Daniel N Obah who said that Governor Dickson was selected as a recipient of the award as a one way of recognizing his immense contributions to the development of the state and the Niger  Delta region as a whole.

He also stated that VARDI AFRICA is an organization that promotes African Value, Excellence, Economic and youth empowerment with the main purpose of making the world appreciate the good in Africa.
