Governor Dickson announces Mother's Burial






The remains of Mrs GoldCoast Dickson,  the mother of the Bayelsa State Governor,  Honourable Henry Seriake Dickson will be lowered to mother earth on December 8, 2018 in Toru- Angiama in Delta State. According to a statement signed by Governor Dickson on behalf of Nanaye Dickson family  of Toru-Orua of Sagbama Local Government of Bayelsa State and the Enimieye Compound of Toru-Angiama of Delta State, there will be service of songs on Thursday, December 6 at the Ecumenical Centre, Yenagoa, Bayelsa State by 5:00pm. This will be followed by service of song/traditional wake keep at Dickson's Compound, ToruOrua on Friday, December 7 from 5:00 pm till dawn. On Sunday, 9th December, 2019  there will be outing and thanksgiving service at the Palace òf Melchizedek, Toru Orua, Sagbama Local Government Area, Bayelsa State by
 11:00am. Governor Dickson thanked Bayelsans, Nigerians and  the international community for their support and the outpour of condolences in the most trying time of the Dickson family.


The statement reads: "With gratitude to the Almighty God for a life well spent, I, the Honourable Henry Seriake Dickson, Governor of Bayelsa State, on behalf of the Nanaye Dickson family of Toru Orua, Bayelsa State and the Enimieye Compound òf Toru Angiama, in Esinikrizi, quarters of Delta State, hereby announce the funeral rites of our late dear mother, Mrs. GoldCoast Dickson, who passed unto eternal glory in August 2018 at the age of 72.


" I appreciate the enormous and unprecedented outpouring of support and solidarity by way of calls, the numerous condolence visits, letters and others to the family.


"Now that the rains and the unfortunate flood are receding, the families and the communities hereby announce the funeral rites as follows:


"Thursday 6th December, 2018 : Service òf songs at the Ecumenical Centre, Igbogene, Yenagoa, Bayelsa State. Time: 5.00pm


"Friday 7th December, 2018 Service òf Songs/Traditional Wake- keep at Dickson Compound, Toru Orua, Sagbama LGA, Bayelsa State.
Time: 5:00pm till dawn


"Saturday, 8th December, 2018: Interdenominational commendation/funeral service at Toru Angiama, Patani Local Government Area òf Delta State.
Time: 11am


"Traditional wake keep and interment follow at Enimieyi Compound, Esinekrizi Quarters, Toru Angiama Community, Patani LGA, Delta State.


"Sunday 9th December, 2019 Outing and thanksgiving service at the Palace òf Melchizedek, Toru Orua, Sagbama Local Government Area, Bayelsa State
Time: 11:00am



"Our families, the communities, the government the good people of Bayelsa State and I will be greatly honoured by your attendance at the funeral ceremonies as we pay our last respect to a truly golden mother.


"The public should please treat this announcement as a formal invitation to the burial"
