Masari Inaugurates first Community National Open University Study in Northern Nigeria



The Katsina State Governor, Rt. Hon Aminu Bello Masari had today commissioned the first Community Study Centre of the National Open University, at Masari,  the country home of the Governor in Kafur Local Government Area of the State.

Katsina Media and Publicity reports that the Special Adviser on Higher Education to the Katsina State Governor, Malam Bashir Usman Ruwan Godiya explained that the Masari's giant strides in education had proved positive in so many areas. He said the State Government had constructed and equipped the centre. The centre is provided with 100 computers which are fully connected with the internet, 200KVA transformer, 100KVA generator, one branded new Hilux which serves as a utility vehicle, a library, laboratory, administrative block and lecture halls.

The Vice Chancellor of the University, Professor Abdallah Uba Adamu in his remark attested to the fact the centre is the first of its kind in the entire Northern Nigeria, adding that "there is no centre in Nigeria as equipped as the Masari Community Study Centre".

Abdallah commended the Governor's stride in education and call on the people of the State and the country at large to enroll and benefit from the centre as the University offers all courses any other University offers and that the quality of their Degrees equates those of Harvard, ABU, BUK and UDUTH Universities.

@katgovmedia reports that the Governor in his remarks, briefed about the state his administration  met education and the current success. "We are from Malumfashi where we celebrated a 2nd position victory by one of our primary schools by the Universal Basic Education (UBE),  Masari said.

He assured the University of his administration continued support to make sure the sustainability of the centre.  He directed the Commissioner for Local Government to make sure all the leadership of the 11 LGAs in the zone sponsors minimum of 10 students. He also agitate  for same by all the legislatures from the zone.

The land where the centre was constructed is a personal property of the State Governor which he freely offered.

INTERNATIONAL OIL COMPANIES FUELING INSECURITY IN NIGER DELTA - GOV. DICKSON
