IWORISO-MARKSON COMMENDS GOV. DICKSON FOR OPUME BRIDGE PROJECT



... seeks more support for restoration government
       
The people of Opume community in Ogbia local government area of Bayelsa State have again been urged to continue to support the Restoration Government of Governor Henry Seriake Dickson.

The State Commissioner for Information and Orientation, Daniel Iworiso-Markson made this remark on Monday when he visited the community to inspect the ongoing bridge in the area.

The bridge which has been in a sorry state for over 20 years has been constructed by the Dickson administration to ease the movement of motorists and pedestrians.

Iworiso-Markson who is an indigene of the community said with greater support, the government will do more for the people before the end of its tenure in 2020.






He praised Governor Dickson for the project and thanked him for his love for Ogbia people which explains the numerous project he has executed in the area.

According to him, he decided to visit his hometown and inspect the bridge ahead of the Christmas and New Year festivities which will see an influx of people to the community.

"I came here to see for myself what I have been hearing and I am really impressed. This government has constructed a project that previous administrations couldn't.

"This once again underscores the love Governor Dickson has for Ogbia people. This bridge will no doubt improve economic activities and also boost the social life of the people" he said.

  Inspite  of the deadlock in FAAC, the Bayelsa State Government has commenced payment of June salary to civil servants in the state, beginning from today,  Wednesday.                          The Government in a press statement signed by the Honourable Commissioner for Finance,  Mr.  Maxwell Ibibai said,  following the stalemate  in FAAC, Governor Henry Seriake Dickson directed the immediate sourcing of  funds to address the salary concerns of civil servants. While stressing that Government holds workers in the state in high esteem,  he said Governor Dickson always gives priority to their welfare.  He also enjoined workers to be dedicated to duty.
