APPOINTMENT OF NEW IGP, DICKSON COMMENDS BUHARI

Bayelsa State Governor, the Honourable Henry Seriake Dickson, has commended President Muhammadu Buhari on the choice of Mr. Muhammed Adamu as the new Inspector General of Police.

The Governor in a statement by his Special Adviser on Media Relations, Mr. Fidelis Soriwei, on Thursday, described the new IGP as a dedicated professional with the requisite experience for the job.

He however urges the new IGP to give the necessary attention to the need to refocus the police for more effective service delivery with emphasis on professionalism.

Governor Dickson said that his interactions with the new IGP when he was the Assistant Inspector General in charge of Zone 5, showed that he was a brilliant career officer who did well then, and has the right experience for the job.

He called on the Nigerian citizenry to support to the new IGP to enable to him the succeed in the onerous task of securing lives and prosperities in the society.

The Governor assured the new IGP of his support and prayers “as long as he does what is right in fairness to everybody.”

He said, “I commend President Muhammadu Buhari on the choice of a new IGP, in the person of Muhammed Adamu, a professional police officer.

“From my experience and interactions with the New IGP when he was Assistant Inspector General òf Police in charge of Zone 5, my judgement is that he did a good job, as a brilliant career officer with the right experience.

“I congratulate him and urge him to refocus the service for greater professionalism and national service. He should raise the bar of professionalism and service in the police.

“I also call for support for the new IGP especially at this critical time of our nation’s history to enable him to succeed in the sensitive task of security our society.

“As long as he does what is right and he is fair to all, he will always have my support and prayers.”

  Inspite  of the deadlock in FAAC, the Bayelsa State Government has commenced payment of June salary to civil servants in the state, beginning from today,  Wednesday.                          The Government in a press statement signed by the Honourable Commissioner for Finance,  Mr.  Maxwell Ibibai said,  following the stalemate  in FAAC, Governor Henry Seriake Dickson directed the immediate sourcing of  funds to address the salary concerns of civil servants. The Commissioner said Government is sensitive to the plight of workers and will do all it could at all times to make workers happy. While stressing that Government holds workers in the state in high esteem,  he said Governor Dickson always gives priority to their welfare.  He also enjoined workers to be dedicated to duty.

Masari Inspects Ongoing Projects on Education and Health in Malumfashi

The Katsina State Governor, Rt. Aminu Bello Masari had inspected ongoing works on the renovation, rehabilitation and upgrading of some educational and health projects in Malumfashi. Katsina Media and Publicity reports that Masari first inspected the  Galadima Primary School where 48 classrooms are being completely rehabilitated and renovated to provide conducive atmosphere of teaching and learning. The Governor was conducted round the structures in the school by the Commissioner of Education, Alhaji Badamasi Lawal Charanchi and the Supervising Engineer, Muntari Sagir.       @katgovmedia reports that the Governor later inspected the project on the upgrade of Asibitin Tsamiya which is now being converted into Comprehensive Health Centre.       Masari was informed that Engineer Muntari Sagir Malumfashi single handedly upgraded the structures in the old Asibitin Tsamiya.
