DICKSON CLINCHES DAILY INDEPENDENT MAN OF THE YEAR AWARD

Few days after Daily Asset Newspaper named him as Governor of the Year, Bayelsa State Governor, The Honourable Henry Seriake Dickson has again bagged another award as Man of the Year from Daily Independent Newspaper.
The State Commissioner for Information and Orientation, Daniel Iworiso-Markson who confirmed this said the governor will be decorated with the award on Thursday at the Eko Convention Centre in Lagos at a ceremony expected to be very colourful.
In a statement released in Yenagoa, Iworiso-Markson disclosed that prominent leaders of the South-South Zone including former Delta State Governor, Chief James Ibori will be on ground to cheer the Bayelsa State Chief Executive as he picks the prestigious award.
He said Ibori and other leaders have indicated their interest to attend the event in solidarity with Governor Dickson for his achievements in office in the last seven years which has made Bayelsa the right destination for business, investment and leisure.
Last Year, Governor Dickson was honoured by prestigious organizations like Daar Communication, Silverbird Group, The Nation Newspaper, Leadership Newspaper, New Telegraph Newspaper, amongst others.
The organizations at various times nominated and conferred on the governor awards in Health, Good Governance, Agriculture, Education, Accountability and Infrastructural Development.
The Sun Publishing Company, publishers of The Sun Newspaper and Silverbird Group will in the next few weeks also honour the countryman governor with various awards.

Bayelsa State Government Pays June Salary

  Inspite  of the deadlock in FAAC, the Bayelsa State Government has commenced payment of June salary to civil servants in the state, beginning from today,  Wednesday.                          The Government in a press statement signed by the Honourable Commissioner for Finance,  Mr.  Maxwell Ibibai said,  following the stalemate  in FAAC, Governor Henry Seriake Dickson directed the immediate sourcing of  funds to address the salary concerns of civil servants. The Commissioner said Government is sensitive to the plight of workers and will do all it could at all times to make workers happy. While stressing that Government holds workers in the state in high esteem,  he said Governor Dickson always gives priority to their welfare.  He also enjoined workers to be dedicated to duty.

BAYELSA RECEIVES N10.7BN ALLOCATION FOR JANUARY, 2019
