GOV. DICKSON CONGRATULATES NEW NDDC BOSS, URGES HIM TO SHUN DIVISIVE POLITICS

...says only development of the state, N/Delta is what is required of him

The Governor of Bayelsa State, The Honourable Henry Seriake Dickson has congratulated, Prof. Nelson Brambaifa on his appointment as acting Managing Director of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC).

The governor in a statement signed by the State Commissioner for Information and Orientation, Daniel Iworiso-Markson urged the new NDDC boss to use the position to advance the course of development in the state.

He also urged him to work in partnership with the State Government to deliver critical road infrastructure that will open up the state for more development.

Governor Dickson equally advised Prof. Brambaifa not to behave like others who according to him with their privileged position and appointments at the federal level will rather choose to shortchange the state.

He stated that Bayelsa has suffered from underdevelopment because of the attitude of some of her leaders who play politics with golden opportunities to the detriment of the state and at the expense of the benefits of the citizens.

While commending the President for the appointment, Dickson assured the new NDDC helmsman of the support of his administration, stressing that Bayelsans and indeed people of the Niger Delta will be watching closely how he will navigate the ship of the commission from the murky waters of politics.

...SAY HE RUNS WHEN NOBODY PURSUES HIM The Bayelsa State Governor, the Honourable Henry Seriake Dickson, on Wednesday described former Governor Timipre Sylva as an unpopular and desperate politician whose conscience remains his greatest threat. Dickson said in a statement by his Special Adviser, Media Relations, Mr. FIdelis Soriwei, that Sylva cuts the gnawing image of a troubled man screaming and fleeing at the sight of nobody. Dickson was reacting to a claim by Sylva that the governor was behind a plot to pitch the Chief òf Staff to the President, Mr. Abba Kyari, against him through orchestrated media reports. Soriwei said that Governor Dickson is too involved and indeed occupied with the execution of the mandate the Bayelsa people gave to him, to be distracted by the hallucinations of a politician whose lifeline in politics was the state òf the mood of his political masters. The Governor’s media Aide said that it was queer and absurd that Sylva did not point to any p...
