GIVE POLICE N300MILLION, ADI WILL BE RELEASED

- followers boast in Brass
- say police can't withstand pressure from above

The press release by the police concerning the arrest of Hon. Israel Sunny Goli with Ref No. CZ.5300/FPRD/FHQ/ABJ/VOL.2/12 and dated 1st March, 2019 on the allegation of masterminding the assault on DCP KOLA OKUNOLA was received with mixed feelings.
Those who have benefitted and those who may still be benefitting, frowned at the news of his arrest while the reverse was the case for many who have been victims of his ferocious activities.
Recall that the IGP, Mohammed Adamu in a press statement had condemned the attack on the Deputy Commissioner of Police by thugs in Brass LGA and ordered the arrest, comprehensive investigation as well as diligent prosecution of persons involved, no matter their positions in the society.
The IGP who described the incident which occurred on Sunday 24th February as unwarranted and unprovoked, barbaric and uncivilized, warned that such brazen acts of impunity would not be condoned under his watch.
Responding to this development, the Chairman of the Brass LGA, Mr. Isaiah Moses applauded the Nigerian Police for their swift response. In his words;
'Adi and his boys have been terrorising our communities for a long time coming. He has caused fear and unleashed terror on the people of brass. Many of our youths are on his payroll and they have been given arms to unleash mayhem on anyone that crosses their path.'
'The attack on the DCP was truly sad and condemnable, an act that must not be treated lightly to forestall future re-occurence.'
Mr. Isaiah also stated that Hon. Sunny Goli's followers are currently boasting about that the case against their boss will closed after the police has been bribed with N300million naira and that pressure will be mounted on the police from above'.
The Chairman urged the police not to yield to any scheme or pressure by anyone to obstruct justice. In his words,
'Reports reaching us is that Adi has planned to bride the police with N300million to close the case. His boys have been singing it like an anthem all over town. It was also said that pressure will be mounted from above to ensure that the case is closed. I therefore urge the police not to yield to their schemes. They must follow through with the process as stated by the IGP. No one is above the law'.

Several indigenes of Brass LGA and across Bayelsa State, including the police force have commended the process by the police so far on addressing the sad incident and much is expected of the police as it regards their determination to put a stop to these barbaric acts on police officers who are simply carrying out their legitimate duties.

The Chairman of Bayelsa State Physical Planning and Development Board, Hon. Ebi Waribigha, said the sealing of the facility followed an eviction order issued by the State Physical Planning and Development Tribunal in Yenagoa. The eviction order had granted the government of Bayelsa State leave to effect the eviction of Agip and all occupants of the premises to enable the Physical Planning and Development Board to conduct environmental, health, technical integrity and safety checks at the facility. The facility was reportedly built without a building permit as required by the Bayelsa State Physical Planning and Development Law (2015). The court had also directed the Commissioner of Police, the Commander of the Joint Task Force (JTF) and all security agencies to facilitate the enforc...

SYLVA, A DESPERATE POLITICIAN UNDER THREAT FROM HIS CONSCIENCE - DICKSON

...SAY HE RUNS WHEN NOBODY PURSUES HIM The Bayelsa State Governor, the Honourable Henry Seriake Dickson, on Wednesday described former Governor Timipre Sylva as an unpopular and desperate politician whose conscience remains his greatest threat. Dickson said in a statement by his Special Adviser, Media Relations, Mr. FIdelis Soriwei, that Sylva cuts the gnawing image of a troubled man screaming and fleeing at the sight of nobody. Dickson was reacting to a claim by Sylva that the governor was behind a plot to pitch the Chief òf Staff to the President, Mr. Abba Kyari, against him through orchestrated media reports. Soriwei said that Governor Dickson is too involved and indeed occupied with the execution of the mandate the Bayelsa people gave to him, to be distracted by the hallucinations of a politician whose lifeline in politics was the state òf the mood of his political masters. The Governor’s media Aide said that it was queer and absurd that Sylva did not point to any p...
