My Husband's Coming As Governor Divine, Says Diri's

Wife Wife of Bayelsa State Governor, Mrs Gloria Diri, has described as divine timing of God the emergence of her husband, Senator Douye Diri, as governor of the state. Mrs Diri spoke at the Special Praise Service in honour of the governor's 61st birthday at the King of Glory Chapel, Government House, Yenagoa. The governor's wife described Senator Diri as a man blessed with great ability to do exploits even in the midst of his busy activities, stating that his strength is always renewed by God's grace to achieve his targets. She prayed for God's wisdom, understanding and power to enable him break new grounds in the state. Her words: "(His coming was) not by his power nor by his might. This is a man that never takes medication. Every day and every night he works hard. I want to say that his strength will continue to be renewed like that of the Eagle." Delivering the sermon, Bishop Ebi Belepeigha said God is still in the business of doing miracles in the lives of those who trust in Him, which, according to him, is evident in the success story of Senator Diri. Citing Daniel 11:1 in the Bible, Bishop Belepeigha explained that the miraculous emergence of Diri as governor of the state is proof that God is with him and the state as well. The cleric prayed for greater grace and strength on the governor year after year and for him to lead the state with godly wisdom. Highpoint of the service was the cutting of the 61st birthday cake by the governor's wife and children alongside Speaker of the Bayelsa State House of Assembly, Abraham Ingobere, who was represented by the Leader, Monday Obolo-Bubou.

...SAY HE RUNS WHEN NOBODY PURSUES HIM The Bayelsa State Governor, the Honourable Henry Seriake Dickson, on Wednesday described former Governor Timipre Sylva as an unpopular and desperate politician whose conscience remains his greatest threat. Dickson said in a statement by his Special Adviser, Media Relations, Mr. FIdelis Soriwei, that Sylva cuts the gnawing image of a troubled man screaming and fleeing at the sight of nobody. Dickson was reacting to a claim by Sylva that the governor was behind a plot to pitch the Chief òf Staff to the President, Mr. Abba Kyari, against him through orchestrated media reports. Soriwei said that Governor Dickson is too involved and indeed occupied with the execution of the mandate the Bayelsa people gave to him, to be distracted by the hallucinations of a politician whose lifeline in politics was the state òf the mood of his political masters. The Governor’s media Aide said that it was queer and absurd that Sylva did not point to any p...
