Gov. Dickson signs Executive Order for Automatic Employment for First Class Graduates

Bayelsa State Governor, the Honourable Henry Seriake Dickson, has said that he has taken a decision to sign an executive order to give automatic employment to all first class graduates in the state every year. The Governor said that the executive order was aimed at ensuring that the automatic employment policy is sustained annually even after the end of his administration. A statement by the Special Adviser to the Governor on Media Relations, Mr. Fidelis Soriwei, quoted the governor as having stated this during an induction ceremony for 31 First Class Graduates who were offered automatic employment at the Government House, Yenagoa on Monday, He explained that the order would mandate the Civil Service Commission to present a list of duly verified applicants to the office of the governor every year for automatic employment. Ex-Gov. Sylva’s SSG, Special Adviser, 2,000 others dump APC for PDP in Bayelsa

Top members the All Progressives Congress, APC, and allies of former Governor of Bayelsa State, Chief Timipre Sylva, have dumped the party for the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP. A former Secretary to the State Government, Dr. Gideon Ekeuwei, and a former Special Adviser, Chief Rufus Abadi, during Sylva’s regime, decamped to the PDP at the weekend. They left the APC along with over 2,000 of their supporters. They were received by the Bayelsa State Governor, Henry Seriake Dickson on Saturday. Dickson Mourns Anenih, Says Nigeria has lost a political colossus

Bayelsa State Governor, Honourable Henry Seriake Dickson, has said Nigeria lost a political colossus in the late Chief Tony Anenih. Governor Dickson, in a statement on Sunday by his Special Adviser on Public Affairs, Mr. Daniel Alabrah, said he received the news of Chief Anenih's passing with shock. He described Anenih as an astute politician and elder statesman whose vacuum will be difficult to fill. The governor, who is also chairman of the South-South Governors Forum, said the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), the South -South geo-political zone and the entire country will miss Anenih for his selfless contributions to the growth of PDP,  development of the region and Nigeria in general. Former Deputy Director of the Buhari Presidential Campaign Council, Mohammed Lawal, has berated some retired military generals, who are alleged to have ganged up to frustrate  President Muhammadu Buhari’s re-election bid in 2019. Speaking with VINCENT KALU , Lawal, a director in NNPC, said the former generals don’t have the needed clout to defeat Buhari, stressing that the president would retire them from politics in next year’s general elections. Nigeria Police Terrminates Partnership With Wesley of Skytick Technology Global Limited

The Nigeria Police has has terminated its partnership with Skytick Technology Global Limited on the establishment of Nigeria Police Broadcasting Service (NPBS). In a press release signed by Force Public Relations Officer Ag. DCP Jimoh Moshood, for the Nigeria Police, he said that the termination is due to discovery of several inadequacies, status bars, flaws and impracticability of the project, which has been discovered to run contrary to the policy of the Nigeria Police Force and the Federal Government of Nigeria’s constitutional and statutory restrictions on the Force not to be an internally revenue generating agent. NUJ election: Itodo, others petition national secretariat, insist election was not inconclusive

The newly elected executives of Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) Correspondents' Chapel of Abuja, on Monday, petitioned the national secretariat of the union over an "unlawful nullification of elections" of the chapel by the FCT Council. At the elections conducted on Saturday 20th, October 2018, a staff of Daily Post, Yemi Itodo emerged as new Chairman of NUJ Correspondents' Chapel, while Collins Ajibola of Kiss FM emerged as his deputy. Mr. Rapheal Oni of Diplomat Magazine was elected as Secretary, Lesley Otu of the SOURCE was returned as Treasurer while Samson Adebayo of ONTV emerged the Auditor. NUJ 2018: Khanoba upturning my election to please his candidate, Yemi Itodo alleges

An aspirant for the position of chairmanship, Correspondent chapel of Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) in Abuja, Yemi Itodo, has accused the acting chairman of the union in Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Primus Khanoba, of upturning his legally won election, to pave way for his crony. Itodo was declared winner of the correspondents chapel's election held in Abuja Saturday alongside other officials for various positions. The three states namely Rivers, Bayelsa and Akwa-Ibom states, had approached the Supreme Court for interpretation of Section 16(1) of the Deep Offshore and Inland Basin Production Sharing Contract Act in suit number SC964/2016 filed on their behalf by their lead Counsel, Mr. Lucius Nwosu, (SAN). The particular Section requires the Federal Government to adjust the shares of the revenue accruable to the Federation whenever the price of crude oil exceeds 20 Dollars per barrel.
