BAYELSA PROHIBITS USE OIL FIRMS’ SECURITY, ASSETS FOR POLITICAL ACTIVITIES

The Bayelsa State Security Council has prohibited the use of assets, personnel and security operatives on attachment to surveillance contractors of oil and gas firms and any other personnel for political activities in the state. The Secretary to the State Government, Mr. Kemela Okara, said in a statement on Thursday that Security Council also decided to restrict assets, personnel and security operatives deployed to oil firms to the oil and gas platforms which are their designated areas of operation. Okara also said that the council comprising the heads of all security agencies and top officials of the state government also prohibited the use of security operatives attached to VIPs and political appointees for election purposes in adherence to the stipulated guidelines of the Indepedent National Electoral Commission. DICKSON CLINCHES DAILY INDEPENDENT MAN OF THE YEAR AWARD

The Inspector General of Police, Ag IGP AbubakarAdamu Mohammed  mni,  has appointed a new Spokesman for the Nigeria Police Force. He is ACP Frank Mba. He takes over from MoshoodJimoh, an acting Deputy Commissioner of Police who is being redeployed to other national assignment. Until his appointment, Frank was working at the Special Fraud Unit (SFU), Ikoyi- Lagos. The posting is with immediate effect. Bayelsa State Governor, The Honourable Henry Seriake Dickson will on Tuesday in Abuja be honoured with an award by Daily Asset Newspaper. BREAKING NEWS:SOUTH SOUTH GOVS HOLD EMERGENCY MEETING IN ABUJA ON SUNDAY

The South South Governor’s Forum has scheduled an emergency meeting of the Forum for Sunday. A statement by the Special Adviser, Media Relation’s to the Governor òf Bayelsa State, Mr. Fidelis Soriwei, stated that the security òf the Niger Delta, during and after the election, the issue of derivation, and recent development involving the Chief Justice of the Federation would feature for deliberation at the meeting.
