House of Reps direct AGIP to suspend surveillance contract of Darlong Security, others

The House of Representatives on Wednesday asked the Nigeria Agip Oil Company (NAOC) to suspend all subsisting pipeline surveillance contracts in Bayelsa state. ‎This followed a motion moved by a member, representing Sagbama/Ekeremor Federal Constituency,‎ Hon. Frederick  Agbedi. ‎Agbedi in the motion said Bayelsa State plays host to Agip with their personnel, pipelines and other oil installations spread across various communities in the state. ‎He explained that as a result of the challenge of Pipeline vandalism in the Niger Delta region and upon the successful implementation of the Presidential Amnesty Program, pipeline surveillance contracts were agreed to be awarded to host communities. MASARI VISITS VICTIMS OF JIBIA RAINSTORM

The katsina State Governor Rt. Hon. Aminu Bello Masari was earlier this morning in Jibia town to commensurate with the victims of rain storm in the area. @Katgovmedia reports that Masari sympathized with the victims and prayed for Allah's  (S. The IGP have the assurance at a stakeholders' forum on Monday in Ekiti, preparatory to the Saturday governorship election in the state. According to him, Nigeria Police Force has deployed over 30,000 personnel to Ekiti state to provide adequate  security for the successful conduct of the governorship election. The Katsina State government has signed an agreement leasing out its Shonghai farm project to Dangote Group for a period of ten years at the cost of N500m. Owerri- Inspector General of Police, Alhaji Ibrahim Kpotun-Idris has called for the collaborative support of all stakeholders towards addressing the various security challenges facing the country.   Inspite  of the deadlock in FAAC, the Bayelsa State Government has commenced payment of June salary to civil servants in the state, beginning from today,  Wednesday.                          The Government in a press statement signed by the Honourable Commissioner for Finance,  Mr.  Maxwell Ibibai said,  following the stalemate  in FAAC, Governor Henry Seriake Dickson directed the immediate sourcing of  funds to address the salary concerns of civil servants. S-Power: KASTINA GOVERMENT ENGAGES 386 YOUTHS FOR TEACHING JOB

The Katsina State Government has engaged 386 unemployed youths under its newly introduced state power programme tagged `S-Power’ in Daura, Maiadua and Dutsi Local Government areas to reduce unemployment. @Katgovmedia recounts that Hussani Karaduwa, the Special Adviser to Governor Aminu Masari on Employment, Promotion and Vocational Training, made this known in Daura on Tuesday while distributing engagement letters to the successful applicants.
